An extra nice thing about Shadetree is that you can schedule a ride to and from the shop, and that service really came in handy this time as I didn’t have another way to get to and from the shop. (They also have loaner vehicles which I didn’t need this time, but have used in the past. Who offers service like that other than Shadetree, not to mention the tow service which is free if your repairs are over a certain amount?! These services alone can save you hundreds and hundreds of dollars easy!) At this visit Shadetree replaced the valve cover gaskets and did a tune-up on my van. The van is ten years old and has over 250K miles, but it runs like new now and I still can’t quite believe the improved gas mileage (I honestly thought maybe the fuel gauge was broken at first as the needle hardly moved)! It ran so well after the tuneup, I had to take a closer look to make sure it was the same van. 🙂 When I got the van a few months ago I brought it to Shadetree first thing, where they did a thorough inspection and gave me a detailed list of work that needed to be done, in order of importance. It’s been a tremendous help with budgeting for car maintenance. Shadetree is a wonderful place and I’m so glad to have discovered them. (Updated 28 April 2020) *************************************************************************** I have a high-mileage minivan so we’re in the shop frequently keeping up with maintenance tasks and so on. Shadetree has consistently been exceptional to work with over the years. They’re very thorough in investigating and diagnosing problems and are great at explaining what needs to be done and why. They’re helpful, too, when it comes to helping me prioritize needed repairs instead of making everything sound urgent, which helps my paltry budget, and my van always runs like it’s almost new when they get done working on it. Not long ago I brought my van to a different place for an oil change. This other shop just told me they couldn’t remove the oil filter and didn’t want to break anything, and sent me on my way. I brought the van to Shadetree and it turned out the other place HAD broken something. Ordering the replacement part would have taken days and I needed to go out of town. Russ was able to find a part for a different make of van that was virtually identical that could be delivered in plenty of time, they got the repair done, and I didn’t have to put off my trip. This place and the employees are amazing. I’m very glad to have found Shadetree and recommend them highly to everyone. (This is an update to my previous reviews)
